Music
Music has often become another way for me to pray, reflect, and respond to Scripture. Some of these songs grew directly from Bible study; others were born in moments when ordinary words no longer seemed enough.
Here you will find the music that has grown from those encounters — along with the stories, Scriptures and reflections behind the songs.

Songs Born from the Journey
Walk Among the Lampstands

Inspired by Revelation 1
The Story Behind the Song
This song grew directly from my study of Revelation 1. What stayed with me most was not the mystery of prophecy, but the picture John was given before all the later symbols appeared: Jesus walking among the lampstands.
John was isolated on Patmos, but he was not abandoned. Christ was there. And the same Jesus who walked among His churches then still walks among His people today. Walk Among the Lampstands was born from that simple but deeply comforting truth.

Inspired by Job 1:8
The Story Behind the Song
What stayed with me was not only Job’s suffering, but the part of the story Job himself never saw. In the opening chapters, heaven is watching. Satan challenges Job’s loyalty, and God says:
“Hast thou considered my servant Job…?”
Job 1:8, KJV
Job never knew about that conversation. He never knew why the losses came. He simply had to decide whether he would still trust God when everything he understood about life seemed to collapse.
The song imagines a moment beyond the biblical story. Job is standing in heaven, and God finally shows him what was happening behind the scenes. Then He shows Job something else: generation after generation of people who found courage in his story because one suffering man refused to let go of God when he had no explanation.
Look at My Servant was born from that thought.
Perhaps one day, when we see the whole story, we will discover that the faithfulness God formed in our darkest places reached much further than we ever knew.
